Our Story

Impulse Ingredients was born from a love of travel more than a decade ago, sparked by a moment of curiosity and timing. After returning from Peru, Jess discovered quinoa - an ingredient virtually unknown in Australia at the time. Around the same period, her husband Jono visited a local health food store that mentioned it in passing. That conversation lit the spark, and together they took a chance on importing a mixed container from South America.

What began in their apartment soon grew into a business shaped by exploration, instinct and the relationships they formed with growers and suppliers around the world. Those early journeys opened doors to new ingredients, new partnerships and a deep appreciation for the people behind them.

Jono played a foundational role in shaping the relationship-driven, people-first ethos the business is known for today. His approach continues to guide the team as Impulse Ingredients evolves - honouring where it began while confidently stepping into its next chapter.

Our Team

Impulse Ingredients is powered by a small, experienced team spanning procurement, sales, logistics, quality assurance and operations. We work closely together, bringing a mix of industry knowledge, commercial insight and genuine care to every relationship.
